Hundreds of mourners came together at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who was killed in a collision while on duty. She was given posthumous honours at the funeral service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective broke down in court while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The scene drew visible distress from those present. Separately, hundreds gathered at Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The crowd stood in remembrance as the anniversary was observed across Sydney.
