Satellite data shows that Earth's inner radiation belt was penetrated. The Arase satellite discovered electrons accelerating inside the Van Allen belt, which challenges earlier ideas about the belt's protection. This could affect space weather and satellite operations. The data reveals that killer electrons can surpass a barrier believed to be impenetrable, so scientists need to modify their models and safeguard satellites better.
