Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been traded to Geelong, with the deal completed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been long rumoured for the Cats after Essendon placed a strong asking price on the defender. Essendon were not budging on their valuation throughout the trade period.
The agreed trade gives Geelong an seasoned backline option while Essendon picks up Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is a versatile utility who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the pre-season period.
